The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO Harmful Algal
Event Database (HAEDAT) of the Harmful Algal Information system (HAIS) contains
records of harmful algal events since 1985. To facilitate the contribution of the IOC Latin-
American and the Caribbean (LAC) Regional networks to HAEDAT, the Regional IOC
Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB) Group ANCA-IOCARIBE in coordination with IOC HAB
Programme is inviting LAC experts and practitioners to a 3-day Session Training Course
on the Use of and Data Uploading to the HAIS-HAEDAT to be held 22, 23 November and
6 December 2021.
The information available in HAIS-HAEDAT is a key source and component for the
development of Models of Biological and Ecological Processes Associated with HAB
Events.
