Summary

The Latin American Congress of Marine Sciences – COLACMAR is the most important technical-scientific event of Marine Sciences in Latin America, which in 2024 will have in its program the presentation of the most recent initiatives focused on research and technological innovation, with topics such as biology and coastal ecosystems, environmental pollution, marine science education and regional cooperation policies, environmental education, food technology, fisheries and mariculture, coastal and oceanic processes, global climate change, public policies for biodiversity conservation, energy sources, renewable ocean resources, among many others.

COLACMAR’2024, in its 20th edition, has as its main characteristic to involve professionals, researchers, professors, students, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, public and private institutions and companies from all over Latin America and other parts of the world, interested in the development of this important area of knowledge.

It is a biannual event, under the responsibility of the Latin American Association of Researchers in Marine Sciences – ALICMAR, alternating the venue of the congress between Latin American countries, located in the Atlantic Ocean or Pacific Ocean, and between the Southern Hemisphere and the Northern Hemisphere.
